SWAT: A policeman has been killed and two others injured after an early morning blast rocked the Kabal area of Swat while security personnel conducted search operations for militants in the area.

According to reports, the explosion was a remote-controlled bomb detonated by militants.

After the blast, policemen and militants exchanged gun fire but no casualties were reported.

After days of escalating violence, policemen surrounded the Kabal area and began to conduct search operations.

During the operation so far, at least 14 people have been apprehended from 3 villages while an indefinite curfew has once again been imposed in all of Kabal.

Tension prevails in all of Swat Valley due to the last week of intensified violence.
