ISLAMABAD: Federal Law Minster Farooq A Naik has expressed clear doubts over the restoration of the deposed judges on the May 12th deadline.
Addressing the media outside the parliament house, Naik said that a joint session of the parliament could be convened for the restoration of judges on May 12th but he felt it was unlikely.
He said differences prevailed between members of the committee over the mode in which the judges are to be restored.
Naik added that the matter was now in the hands of the leaders of the coalition as the committee has finalized its proposals and handed them over.
With regards to differences expressed by Hafeez Pirzada and Aitzaz Ahsan, Naik said Hafeez Pirzada was yet to come up with a written proposal while Aitzaz Ihsan has already submitted his proposals in writing.
Naek also said that if the PCO judges are to be retained a separate bill would be introduced in parliament for increasing the number of Supreme Court judges.
