LAHORE: PML-N leader Makhdoom Javed Hashmi on Thursday said the reinstatement of the deposed judges was the major responsibility of the PML-N and its leadership was committed to the task.
Addressing the members of the Lahore District Bar Association (LDBA) here at the Aiwan-e-Adl on Thursday, he said the people were expecting that the new parliament would resolve their problems and restore the judiciary as well as democracy in the country.
"If parliament will not come up to the expectations of people, then it has no right to continue for five years," Hashmi said. ìOnly five days will be enough to throw it out.î The PML-N leader vowed to fulfill the task of the independence of judiciary and said PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif, along with other leaders, was committed to restore the judges.
He criticised the constitutional rights of the president like 58-2(b). LDBA President Manzoor Qadir, Secretary Latif Sera and others also spoke on the occasion and demanded of the ruling coalition to reinstate the deposed judges by May 12.
