
PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB-Frontier) has filed a reference against a Tehsil Nazim in DI Khan and others for their alleged involvement in embezzlement of government funds and misuse of authority.
Investigations revealed that during the year 2002-03, various shops were constructed by the Tehsil Municipal Administration wherein Tehsil Nazim Fatehullah Khan, in connivance with other officials and contractors, allegedly embezzled and misappropriated government funds. Later, the shops were allotted on nominal rate to his favourites, ignoring open auction criterion and causing a loss of Rs 30.167 million to the public exchequer. The NAB alleged that the Nazim had embezzled Rs 16 million in the name of "Soil protection/ Preservation Scheme," which was never executed on ground. After probe, the NAB filed a reference of Rs 46.167 million and misuse of authority against the accused.
