ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information, Sherry Rehman Monday claimed the policy of free media will continue to be pursued and there is no reason why license to Geo English or any other law abiding channel would be held. “I have no knowledge with regard to the issuance of license for Geo English being held,” she said while talking to Geo News and added that she herself would want that Geo English is granted the license to go on air. There should be English news channels running in the country besides the Urdu ones, she said. Sherry Rehman pointed out that Pakistan now enjoys a good position as one of those countries granting freedom to media and the government wants this position to remain so.
