
KARACHI: On the directives of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, a low-cost housing scheme for poor people will be launched soon besides provision of all basic facilities of life to them. nnThis was decided at a high level meeting held here on Saturday with Sindh Chief Secetary, Fazl-ur-Rehman in the chair. nnBesides resolving power and water supply problems, projects for the provision of all basic facilities would also be started on the government lands in all districts and the services of Board of Revenue, local government and finance departments and all DCOs will be sought for these projects.nnIt was also decided that the government land would be identified in Thatta, Badin, Jacobabad, Umerkot districts and Khuda Ki Basti and later low-cost housing scheme started there after preparation of model project of housing.nnHousing expert Tasneem Ahmed Siddiqui, Shafiq Ahmed Paracha, Ziaul Islam, Additional Chief Secretary Nazar Hassain Mahar, Secretary Finance Ghulam Ali Pasha, Additional Finance Secretary Naheed Shah Durrani and other officials also attended the meeting.
