KARACHI: The Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) will be sold at Rs47.25 in Sindh including Karachi and Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has no authority to intervene in connection with the fixation of the price.
This was stated by Chairman Petroleum and CNG Dealers Association, Abdul Sami Khan at a press conference.
He pointed out that the price of CNG is come about after taking into account not only the increase in gas rate but also the other over heads incurred at gas stations. “We are ready to get investigations conducted even by a High Court to clear the doubts in this matter,” he added.
Abdul Sami Khan said like Punjab a strategy will soon be announced to compensate the CNG consumers in Karachi and Sindh who were overcharged earlier.
He argued that the CNG industry is already de-regulated, thus nullifying the possibility of any other authority’s intervention.
