
KARACHI: President Pervez Musharraf Saturday vowed to take Pakistan out of various turmoils - the political turmoil, terrorism and extremism.nn"Pakistan has come to live and will Inshallah survive", he said while speaking as chief guest at the balloting ceremony of some 9000 plots in Hawksbay Scheme-42 of Lyari Development Authority (LDA) held here at Governor House here.nnSindh Governor, Dr. Ishrat- ul-Ebad Khan, Provincial Ministers,Nazim Karachi Syed Mustafa Kamal, Naib Nazim Nasreen Jalil, Provincial Ministers besides DG LDA Agha Maqsood Abbas were present on the occasion.nnThe President said we have to pull the country out of turmoils and face challenges of terrorism and extremism if Pakistan is to survive and keep moving forward.nnReferring to balloting of plots, the President said the mission always before him has been to work for poorest of the poor and it was for the fourth time that he is performing the balloting of plots.nnPointing out that through ballot, some 120,000 plots have been given so far, the President announced that an additional 100,000 plots would be provided in Taisar Town with emphasis on small size plots for the poor.nnHe said there are people who have been living in nullahs, slums and in dilapidated conditions and they have to have a place in the world to live.nnIn a city like Karachi, he opined, it is more essential to have more plots of small size - say 80 sq yards on which well designed 3-room houses can be constructed to meet the living requirements of poor.nnHe appreciated the dynamism of Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul- Ebad Khanand City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal for thinking on right lines and said their efforts for providing shelter to the poor is commendable.nnEarlier the President performed the balloting of 9000 plots -5000 of 240 sq yards and 4000 of 400 sq yards in Hawksbay Scheme-42 by pushing the computer button.
