
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said the development of Balochistan is among the top priorities of the government and the recently announced special funds will further accelerate the process of development in the province and improve the standard of living of its people. He was holding a meeting with Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Aslam Raisani at PM house here in Islamabad.nnThis grant is in addition to Rs 640 million allocated by the Prime Minister last week for electricity supply to Noshki and Dalbandin, Rs 340 million gas supply to Sohrab and Rs 360 million for gas supply to Noshki under the People’s Works Programme (PWP). nnThe prime minister said the government had allocated Rs 42 billion for the province under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) up from last year’s Rs 26 billion. Gilani told that international assistance was being sought for small dams in Balochistan’s remote areas. nn“Four of the five new dams proposed will be built in Balochistan,” PM said.
