
LAHORE: President Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan needed to function in multi-dimensional phases for the elimination of extremism and terrorism, and maintaining law and order situation.
Talking to journalists at the Lahore Airport after his return from Karachi, Shahbaz Sharif said that there was no room for terrorism in Pakistan. “But it is only possible by spreading literacy and curbing poverty,” he suggested.
He said that Pakistan stood for peace and its masses were peaceful citizens.
“The government of Punjab is taking all out measures for the social and economic welfare of Pakistan within the limits of the law,” he maintained.
In response to a question regarding rejoining the federal Cabinet he said it was just a hypothesis. “We have not decided to join the Cabinet yet,” he said.
While commenting on Mian Nawaz Sharif's London visit, he said that he was there to inquire his wife’s health.
Secretary General PML-N Zafar Iqbal Jhagra, President PML-N Punjab Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa and others also accompanied him on the occasion.
