
RAWALPINDI: Federal Minister for water and power development Raja Pervez Ashraf directed the WAPDA authorities to end night-time load shedding and ensure seven hours continuous power in the night time.
He said that Mohterma Benazir Bhutto introduced the Independent Power Producers (IPPs) that are now producing 5500 MW electricity.
He said that PPP has inherited a number of problems and challenges including food, floor crises, peace and security issue, electricity crisis, inflation, unemployment and other issues.
Chairman IESCO Abdul Gaffoor told the traders, that two more grid stations will be constructed within next three months and the capacity of some 15-grid stations has also been increased.
He informed that in next two years more grid stations will be constructed at Gangal, Adiala and ME collage adding we have been demanding funds for this purpose from the Asian Development Bank.
He directed WAPDA to resolve the problems of people in Satellite Town area, related to electricity.
