
KARACHI: Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) owes WAPDA Rs40 billion in arrears but the latter still continues to supply 600 MW electricity to the former on daily basis.nnWAPDA sources said it keeps supplying 600 MW electricity due to political reasons to meet Karachi’s demand. The KESC management failed to deliver and the government is well aware of this fact.nnWAPDA has to undertake increased load-shedding in the four provinces due to supplying 600 MW to Karachi. But still KESC blames WAPDA for the prevailing power crisis.nnWAPDA is likely to commit default if KESC fails to clear its dues of Rs40 billion and FATA Rs77 billion.
