
PESHAWAR: Waqar Mehboob of NWFP retained the title of the CAS Under-19 National Junior Squash Championship after defeating his younger brother Waqas Mehboob in all family affairs final here at Hashim Khan Squash Complex on Tuesday.
Waqar Mehboob, the member of the gold medalist team in the recently concluded World Championship, won the final in straight sets. The score was 10-8, 9-2 and 10-8.
In the most thrilling final of the Under-17 category, the promising Nasir, who have credential of the winning British Open U-13, Under-15, Cologne Junior Open title, Qatar Open Junior titles in Under-15 age group, Milo Cup in Malaysia and runners-up of the Asian Junior in Under-15 age group, defeated Haroon Samad in straight sets, the score was 9-2, 9-0 and 9-0.
Top seed Israr Ahmad of Punjab defeated Shan Khan of PAF in straight sets to grab the Under-11 category title. The score was 9-5, 9-4 and 9-0.
In the Under-13 thrilling final second seed Tayyum Aslam upset Ammad Farid of Punjab in the thrilling five sets battle. Tayyub took the first set 9-3 but failed to do so in the second won by Ammad at 9-10.
Ammad got the third set 9-10. Tayyub won the won the fourth set by 9-4 inspite losing two set points against, he won the decisive set by 9-6.
