SHIKARPUR: The DPO, taking notice of the Jirga decision of giving in forced marriage of the six teen-girls in penalty to the rival tribesmen, ordered arrest of all the members of the Jirga here.

Goth Shahu Police station here, registering a case against all the members of the Jirga on the directive of the Shikarpur DPO, Khadim Hussain Rind, has started raiding different places here for the arrest of the culprits. Police said that a Jirga, headed by UC Nazim, Mir Niaz Hussain Jatoi, was held for resolving the six-year-old rivalry between the two groups of Jatoi tribe at Chak in Kachcha area, where on allegations of murder as penalties the ‘Nikahs’ of six teen-aged girls were solemnized with persons double of their age, while one 13-year girl was given in forced marriage to one 55-year old man and let him take her away.
