
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Air Force observed 7th September as Martyrs' Day at all the PAF bases throughout the country. The day started with special Dua and Quran Khawani for the Shuhada of 65/71 wars and those who died in action since the creation of Pakistan.
A simple but impressive ceremony was also held at the Air Headquarters, Islamabad, in which Air Chief Marshal Tanvir Mahmood Ahmed, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, laid floral wreath and offered Fateha at the Martyrs Monument at the Air Headquarters.
Principal Staff Officers of the Air Headquarters and a large number of officers and Junior Commissioned Officers attended the ceremony. In the morning, a PAF contingent led by Air Vice Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt, Air Officer Commanding Southern Air Command, offered Fateha and laid floral wreath on behalf of Chief of the Air Staff at the grave of Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas (Shaheed), Nishan-e-Haider.
On behalf of Chief of the Air Staff and all ranks of Pakistan Air Force, floral wreaths were also laid on the graves of PAF Shuhada throughout the country.
