ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued a stay order against raise in power tariff on Monday and adjourned the hearing till September 24.

NWFP government had filed the petition against increment in power rates in IHC. Abdul Hafeez Pirzada has filed the petition on behalf of NWFP government on which chief justice of IHC has issued the notices to NEPRA, PEPCO and federal government.

The court has also ordered to retain old tariff till the decision of the petition.

Earlier, the federal government had given the approval of 31 percent tariff raise.
