
LAHORE: Pakistan cricket team for forthcoming four-nation Twenty20 tournament will be announced today (Monday).
The tournament will be played from October 10-13 in Toronto. Pacer Shoaib Akhtar and experienced batsman Muhammad Yousuf are expected to make a comeback in the final squad.
Members of National Selection Committee assessed the overall performance of players participating in National Twenty20 Event and finalized the list. Selection Committee and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Shafqat Naghmi had a long chat on team selection on other day.
According to sources, all rounder Shahid Afridi, Rao Iftikhar and Abdul Rauf’s inclusion in the team came under discussion, while name of Anwar Ali, Fawad Alam and Muhammad Hafiz were also under consideration.
Captain Shoaib Malik and Geoff Lawson were also consulted in this connection.
Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and Host Canada will take part in the event.
