SIRNAGAR: India on Monday enforced a strict curfew in occupied Kashmir to stop the Azadi March, while security forces were given shoot-at-sight orders.
The biggest protest rally will be taken out in Srinagar, which will end at Lal Chowk.
Meanwhile, Indian authorities detained most of the top APHC leadership, including Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Professor Abdul Ghani, Maulana Abbas Ansari and Bilal Ghani.
Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Yasin Malik was shifted to some undisclosed place after being arrested while senior leader Syed Ali Gillani was under treatment in hospital.
According to APP, curfew is in force through out the occupied valley while people have been warned to stay inside their homes. However, Kashmiri people have vowed to go ahead with the march saying India cannot crush the Kashmiri freedom movement by using force.
Meanwhile, authorities have taken unprecedented security measures to stop the rally, including deployment of thousands of Indian troops in the streets. The local administration has also banned some local private channels.
