
KARACHI: Veteran Mohammad Yousuf, while representing KPT, lost to Sri Sienna of Colombo Port 1-4 in the billiards final of the South Asian Port Games (SAPOG), held at the Sugathadasa Sports Complex in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on Monday.
Sri Sienna, Sri Lanka’s leading cueist, remained outstanding in the middle keeping former world champion Mohammad Yousuf under tight control. Sienna twice compiled a frame of 107, showing his superiority to win the gold for his side.
Mohammad Yousuf remained under pressure throughout the game and could score 102 in the second frame as his other efforts were much short of his opponent. The score was 107-83, 48-102, 103-66, 106- 48, and 107-88 in favour of Sri Sienna.
As per other details provided to ‘The News’ by the KPT manager sports Shah Naeem Zafar on Monday from Colombo, the KPT badminton team was playing against Colombo Port-I in the semifinal as per last reports received. The other semifinal was in operation between India and Bangladesh. KPT won the bronze medal in beach volleyball. Mazharuudin Memon and Furqan Hussain were representing KPT.
