
PESHAWAR: Jamaat-e-Islami’s Train March led by its Amir Qazi Hussain Ahmed has left for Karachi from Peshawar today (Tuesday).
The train is due to arrive in Karachi on October 15. The march began from Cantt Station in Peshawar where hundreds of JI workers left for Karachi from Peshawar.
JI Chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed is leading the train march, while deputy Amir Liaquat Baloch and Siraj-ul-Haq are also accompanying him in the march. The train will reach Lahore via Rawalpindi on Tuesday evening. The marchers, after a short stay in Multa, will head to Sukkur.
Talking to media persons at Peshawar Railway Station JI chief said the march was aimed at creating awareness among the people regarding congregation of Jamaat-e-Islmai to be held on October 24 in Lahore.
He said people were being terrified though suicide attacks and bomb blasts. Ahmed further said that rising inflation, price hike, deteriorating law and order situation have destroyed the country’s economy. He also criticized the ongoing military operation in tribal areas.
