KARACHI: Pakistan former hockey Olympians on Friday promised to form a players’ association within the next few days in a bid to save the national sport.
Hassan Sardar, Pakistan’s celebrated centre-forward, said that he and fellow players will soon announce the details of the Pakistan Hockey Players Association that will be headed by the country’s former stars.
Hassan said that the association will be formed ahead of the October 14 meeting of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF). “The PHF could take some decisions that may harm our hockey which is why we want to form a players’ association that can raise its voice against any unsuitable steps of the PHF,” he stressed.
