
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Morocco Saturday signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in the fields of tourism, education, media, exchange of scholars and promotion of Arabic language.
Secretary Ministry of Religious Affairs Najeeb Ullah Malik and Director of Traditional Education Abdel Wahed Bendoud from Morocco signed the MoU.
The agreement aimed at promoting national bonds, strengthening ties of Islamic cooperation and reaffirming their commitments to the teaching of Islam and its noble moral values.
The agreement was signed after a two-day Pak-Morocco Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) meeting concluded here on Saturday.
During the two-day deliberation both sides agreed to reactivate the agreement signed between both the countries in 2003.They also discussed matters of mutual interests and major areas in which the two countries can enhance cooperation.
Senior official of the Ministry of Religious Affairs were also present on the occasion.
The six-member delegation from Morocco led by Director of Traditional Education Abdel Wahed Bendoud.
At the end of the ceremony both sides exchanged Quranic scriptures.
