
KOHAT: To cope with the scourge of militancy, elders of all the six tribes in the semi-tribal town of Darra Adamkhel on Saturday assured the political administration that they would expel the militants from their area and help the government to establish its writ.
Kohat Regional Coordination Officer (RCO), Umar Afridi, had called a special meeting of the elders of all the tribes of Darra Adamkhel, FR Kohat, to discuss ways and means for raising a Lashkar (volunteer force). Besides the elders of Akhurwal, Sherakai, Bostikhel, Zarghunkhel, Tor Chapar and Jawaki, District Coordination Officer, Kohat, Siraj Ahmad, and Assistant Political Agent, Sajid Ahmad, attend the meeting.
The elders discussed as to how to raise a Lashkar and stop the militants’ activities in the FR Kohat. They assured the government that they would fully cooperate with the political administration in expelling the militants from their area. On the occasion, Umar Afridi said the government would financially help all the tribesmen who were supporting it in its endeavours against the militants and miscreants.
