HARIPUR: Three persons, including a woman, were killed and four others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a Suzuki pick-up near the Hattar Industrial Estate on the Haripur-Taxila Road on Sunday.

The accident occurred due to the reckless driving of the bus driver, eyewitnesses and injured said. Hattar Police said a family from Haripur was travelling on a Suzuki pick-up (ADB 4046), going towards Taxila when their vehicle was hit by a speeding passenger bus near Dohrian Chowk, Hattar. The accident killed the driver on the spot and injured six others.

The villagers reached the site and shifted the injured to District Headquarters Hospital, Haripur. According of hospital sources, two of the six injured succumbed to their injuries in the hospital while the condition of four others was out of danger.

Those killed were identified as Raja Muhammad Zaheer (driver), his brother Raja Muhammad Iftikhar, and Saeeda Bibi, wife of Raja Iftikhar. The injured were identified as Tanzeela Bibi, d/o of Raja Zaheer, Yaqub and Adeel.
