
‘PML-N doing politics of division’

NAWABSHAH: PPP MNA Dr Azra Fazal Pechohu said on Sunday that the PML-N was doing politics of differences, which is not appropriate. She said the PML-N had made a mistake by not putting forward its suggestions during the in-camera joint session. Addressing a press conference at the press club here, Dr Azra said the Army was doing its constitutional job by protecting the borders of the country and acting against the anti-state elements in the tribal areas. She said Pakistan Army belongs to the people and they love it. She was of the view that Qazi Hussain Ahmed and Imran Khan should raise concern about the Army operation in the tribal areas during in-camera session. She said those involved in bombing at public places, schools and hospitals were enemies of the nation and the country. She said suicide bombers were not martyrs in the eyes of Allah.
Iran hands over 23 Pakistanis
QUETTA: The border security forces of Iran arrested on Sunday 23 more Pakistanis on Iran border, adjacent to bordering town Taftan and handed them over to police officials at the Taftan border, sources in police said.They said these people had crossed the border and entered into the Iranian territory without any legal documents. They wanted to proceed to Europe via Iran for seeking employment. Later, the Taftan police officials handed over these people to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) authorities in the bordering town.
Operation in NWA ruled out

MIRAMSHAH: Military officials and political administration have urged Ulema and elders of the North Waziristan Agency to avoid negative propaganda of certain elements trying to sabotage peace in the area. Talking to a delegation of local Ulema and elders, Brigadier Khushnud Iqbal said the peace agreement with the Utmanzai tribesmen stood intact. He dispelled the impression of any military operation in the agency. He said there was peace in the area and tribesmen should not fall prey to disinformation being spread by enemies of the country. The delegation members, including Hafiz Ihsan Wali, Maulvi Noroz and others, assured the officials of their support to maintain durable peace in the area.
Rally in Quetta slams Oct 12 coup
QUETTA: The PML-N observed black day and took out a rally here on Sunday to condemn the Oct 12, 1999, military coup. The rally started from the PML-N office and culminated in front of the press club. Addressing the participants, Naim Kashmiri and others fulminated against the dictators, who did not let democracy to flourish in the country.
