TORONTO: Former Chief Selector Salahuddin Ahmed has urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to hold accountable any official, who changed the 15-member Pakistan squad announced to take part in Toronto T20 cricket tournament.
“Many days have passed since the team was named and then it came to surface that the squad was tempered and the name of spinner Saeed Ajmal was erased and another player added without considering any merit,” he said here on Sunday.
He said he is relieved that the new chairman of the PCB has ordered a probe into the matter and he believes that it will be concluded soon to pin point the individuals responsible for this act.
“We selected the team which was duly signed by two other selectors, Sahfqat Rana and Saleem Jaffar and we handed it over to Chief Operating Officer of PCB, Shafqat Naghmi who sent to Sports Ministry for final approval,” he said.
