
KARACHI: A dashing unbeaten century by Mohammad Afzal, with the help of 11 boundaries, enabled Qasmi Cricket Club beat Orangi United CC by 181 runs while North Shire CC defeated Northern Gymkhana by 91 runs, in the Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) Zone VI A Division League Cricket Tournament, here at the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) and KCCA Stadium, respectively.
At the KDA Stadium, batting first Qasmi CC scored 300-6 in 40 overs. Mohammad Afzal hit 100 not out, Rehan Azam 54 with three fours and two sixes, Niaz Shah 59 with nine fours and Talha Fahim 34. Imran Khan took two wickets for 43 runs.
In reply, Orangi United were dismissed for 119 in 20.1 overs. Shahid Khan 21, Zakir Khan 35 and Abdul Rehman 21 were the main scorers. Talha Fahim took 3-28, Arsalan Hashim 3-25, Aamer Maqvi 2-35 and Abid Qasmi 2-34.
At the KCCA Stadium, batting first North Shire CC scored 254-9 in 40 overs. Ali Iqbal made 98 with 11 fours and four sixes while Faisal Ali contributed 22. Right-arm leg-spinner Saad Bashir took four for 62.
In reply, Northern Gymkhana were bowled out for 163 in 29.4 overs. Saad Bashir scored 40, Moin Ahmed 24 and Moin Dilshad 20. Ahmed Zeeshan took 3-12, Zahid Iqbal 2-51 and Kashif Kamal 2-39.
